Mechanized Excavator Machine consists of hydraulic telescopic excavator, mounted on a slew ring and fixed in the crown of a shield.

Rotational movement is provided by a slewing ram, vertical movement is activated by two hydraulic rams, advancement is obtained by a bucket cylinder mounted also within the boom.

Excavator movements are carried out by two joystick controls mounted at the operator station, these activate the eight directional movements of the excavator. 

The excavator is designed for circular tunnel excavation in stable cohesive material with minimal water inflow from the face.
